Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Hope Pirates vs. Russellville Indians
Pleasant Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Russellville Indians.
While Pleasant Hope ultimately came up short, they really made Russellville work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25.
Lily Lambeth paced Pleasant Hope's offense, picking up three kills. Lambeth got some help from Abigail Fitzlaff and her five assists. Lambeth was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Russellville can attribute much of their success to Paige Calvird, who had 12 digs and two assists.
Pleasant Hope's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17-3. As for Russellville, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Pleasant Hope has already played their next contest (against Billings), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Russellville, they have also already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Greenfield on the 11th.
