Baseball Recap: Oakland Comes Up Short

Oakland was the 12-4 winner over Green Hill when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Oakland Patriots lost 8-1 to the Green Hill Hawks on Thursday. The loss was the Patriots' first of the season.

Oakland got a good showing from Joshua Eilers, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Oakland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Carver, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Oakland fell to 1-1-1. As for Green Hill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakland will challenge The Webb School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Webb School will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Oakland surely won't give up without a fight. As for Green Hill, they will take on Clarksville in a tournament on Friday. Clarksville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 15 runs per game this season.
