Pacifica and Canyon are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Mariners are taking a road trip to take on the Comanches at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Pacifica will be strutting in after a victory while Canyon will be coming in after a loss.

Pacifica is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Esperanza on Thursday as they made off with an 11-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now won four in a row.

Pacifica got a great performance from Ellena Ediss as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Ediss has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Abby Amezquita was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Micheala Meza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Pacifica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Canyon came up short against Cypress on Tuesday and fell 8-4.

Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Pacifica, their record is now 15-8.

Pacifica beat Canyon 3-0 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mariners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
