Recap: Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Roadrunners vs. Valley Lutheran Flames

The Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Roadrunners lost against the Valley Lutheran Flames back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Phoenix Day School for the Deaf ended up on the wrong side of a rough 45-19 walloping at the hands of Valley Lutheran. Phoenix Day School for the Deaf has not had much luck with Valley Lutheran recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Miracle Brooks was Phoenix Day School for the Deaf's leading scorer, having posted five points. Pearl Williams held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Valley Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Viddiate Clinton led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Natalia Hernandez, who scored nine points along with eight steals.

Phoenix Day School for the Deaf has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 17 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Valley Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Phoenix Day School for the Deaf will be playing at home against Antelope at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Phoenix Day School for the Deaf is facing Antelope at the right time seeing as Antelope is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Valley Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mogollon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mogollon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Tuesday.
