Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cyprus). They never let the Granger Lancers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won five matches in a row.
Breelyn ( Bree ) Garcia made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Adelaide ( Addie ) Winn was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Calee Sharp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Cyprus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granger only posted an OBP of .200.
