Volleyball Recap: Gunderson Takes a Loss

If Gunderson was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of James Lick last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gunderson fell just short of the Live Oak Acorns by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Grizzlies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Acorns from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Gunderson started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-20, 15-13.

Gunderson now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Live Oak, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gunderson is set to challenge their familiar foe Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Live Oak will square off against rival San Jose at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
