Baseball Recap: Oak Hall Eagles vs. Saint Francis Catholic Wolves

The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Wolves' pitcher proved too tough.

Gavin Jones was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Aaron Akins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Lincoln Jones was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases.
Oak Hall now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
