Moriarty entered their tilt with Espanola Valley on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Sundevils 9-1. This was payback for the Pintos, who suffered a 15-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

Isabella Gallegos was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Ainsley Milligan was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Julie Autrey, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Moriarty pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Espanola Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Moriarty didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against Santa Fe Indian on the 22nd. As for Espanola Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Laguna Acoma on the 22nd.
