League recap: Kingston scores huge upset over Tishomingo

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tishomingo, who took down 195th ranked Tishomingo, 34-9.

Dakota Powell and Trent Delozier provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Savanna. The connection went for 60 yards, the longest such play in 2A District 4 this season.

Coalgate's dynamic duo of Powell and Delozier proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Powell threw for 135 yards and one touchdown and Delozier had 71 yards receiving. Brian Sharp helped Coalgate's passing attack out by catching two balls for 24 yards.

Deaundre` Carr was the most productive running back in the league this week. In four carries, he ran for 129 yards as Davis fell to Savanna. Teammate Alec Hetherington added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.

Coalgate's Powell and Delozier have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Powell has thrown for 297 yards this season, while Delozier has five catches for 120 yards. Josh Kirkwood from Konawa leads the league in rushing with 630 yards.

The top two teams in 2A District 4 will face off this week when first place Davis takes on second place Lexington. Last week, the Wolves bested the Tigers, while Lexington defeated Marietta.

Kingston moved up to 177 from 216 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 34-9 win over the Indians helped the Redskins improve their standing.
