Basketball Recap: Cumberland Academy Takes a Loss

Cumberland Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 73-30 loss at the hands of the Hawkins Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1172nd, while the Hawks are ranked 206th).

Cumberland Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Hawkins, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Cumberland Academy has already played their next match, a 59-42 win against Queen City on the 27th. As for Hawkins, they are taking a road trip to face off against Harleton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
