Soccer Recap: Silver Creek Triumphs

Silver Creek won the last time they faced San Jose and things went their way on Monday too. The Silver Creek Raiders beat the San Jose Bulldogs by a goal, winning 2-1. Gabriel Anttanious had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Raiders got from the refs.

Arturo Duran Valverde and Carlos Alvarez scored both of Silver Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Silver Creek picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3-2. As for San Jose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-5-1.

Silver Creek will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Evergreen Valley at 6:30 p.m. Silver Creek's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. San Jose will take on Piedmont Hills in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Piedmont Hills will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something San Jose surely won't give up without a fight.
