Softball Recap: Byron Tigers vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses
Byron proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since March 16, 2024.

Alyssa Bauer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Bauer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
Bauer wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Girten, who went 1-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Girten has hit this season.
Byron's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Dixon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Byron will square off against rival Stillman Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Dixon is set to face off against their familiar foe Winnebago at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
