Basketball Recap: First Coast Takes a Loss

First Coast played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Nease Panthers, falling 67-27. The Buccaneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

First Coast lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Naava Barber, who posted seven points and five rebounds. Those seven points gave Barber a new career-high. Sha'Niah Bennett was another key player, putting up six points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Nease got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Rollins out in front who had 13 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Pytel, who put up ten points in addition to six assists and five steals.

First Coast is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. As for Nease, they moved to 4-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

First Coast will host ED White at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. ED White has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Nease, they will welcome Mandarin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
