Softball Recap: Leroy Greene Academy Wins Going Away Against Elite

Leroy Greene Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Elite Eagles get on the board and left with a 29-0 win. The contest marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season.

Larissa Reynoso made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Reynoso was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Mikyla Roberts and Irene Aceves did most of the damage at the plate: Roberts went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Aceves scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Aceves continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Marley Nava was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Leroy Greene Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .900. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Leroy Greene Academy moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Leroy Greene Academy will welcome Delta at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elite, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Esparto at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
