Recap: Belle Plaine Dragons vs. Chaparral Roadrunners
The Belle Plaine Dragons lost against the Chaparral Roadrunners back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Belle Plaine had to suffer through a rough 52-22 loss at the hands of Chaparral. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Belle Plaine has scored all season.
Chaparral's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Paige Swingle led the charge by scoring 16 points. That's the first time this season that Swingle scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Auburn Hill, who scored 13 points along with seven steals.
Belle Plaine has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Chaparral, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Belle Plaine will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Moundridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Chaparral won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Conway Springs at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Conway Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday.
