Softball Recap: Windham RVT Sets Scoring Season-High Against Cheney Tech

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Windham RVT). They put the hurt on the Cheney Tech Chargers with a sharp 31-1 victory on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Hailey Andrews made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.6 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Genna Sargent was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Vazquez, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Windham RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 29 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.

Windham RVT's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4. As for Cheney Tech, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windham RVT will face off against Stafford at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cheney Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
