Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Sterling

The Roosevelt Roughriders will face off against the Sterling Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Roosevelt turned things around against Greeley Central on Thursday. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Addalynn Burbridge had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Roosevelt.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). They blew past Union Colony Prep 6-0 on Friday. With that victory, Sterling brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.

Roosevelt's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-9-1. As for Sterling, they now have a winning record of 5-4-2.
