Volleyball Recap: Villa Angela-St. Joseph's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Villa Angela-St. Joseph was the 2-0 winner over Twinsburg when they last played one another back in October of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell 2-0 to the Tigers on Saturday. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Leading Twinsburg to victory were Madisyn Muth and Lexi Rapp. Muth had four aces and three assists, while Rapp had three aces. Those three aces gave Rapp a new career-high. Maria Piccolo also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Twinsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Villa Angela-St. Joseph and Twinsburg will both be playing Beaumont School the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Blue Streaks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
