Basketball Game Preview: Warden Cougars vs. Freeman Scotties

The Warden Cougars just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Freeman Scotties at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Warden has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Freeman will come in with four straight victories.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 96-34, which was the final score in Warden's tilt against Reardan on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Screaming Eagles are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 60-31 stomp they got against Logos. The Scotties have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 25 points or more this season.

Warden's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Freeman, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Warden was dealt a bruising 76-33 loss at the hands of Freeman when the teams last played back in December of 2021. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Warden was down 44-14.
