Softball Game Preview: West Jessamine Colts vs. Boyle County Rebels

West Jessamine hasn't had much luck against Boyle County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. West Jessamine will head out on the road to square off against Boyle County at 6:00 p.m. The last three games West Jessamine has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, West Jessamine didn't have quite enough to beat Estill County and fell 7-6.

Emerson Collins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Vahle, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Collins wasn't the only one working in the home run department: West Jessamine lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Boyle County came up short against Marion County on Saturday, falling 13-5.

West Jessamine suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Boyle County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

West Jessamine suffered a grim 13-4 defeat to Boyle County in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can West Jessamine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
