Preview: Winchester Community Golden Falcons vs. Tri Titans
Winchester Community has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Tri Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Winchester Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Tri is ranked 94th).
Winchester Community's 19-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Union County by a score of 38-35.
Meanwhile, Tri waltzed into their contest Saturday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Union City 70-41 at home. Tri might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matchups by 28 points or more this season.
Tri's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenley Cornelius led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five steals. Cornelius has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Chew, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Winchester Community's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Tri, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Winchester Community lost to Tri on the road by a decisive 58-41 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Winchester Community, Bailey Parham (who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
