Baseball Recap: Lake City Sets Scoring Season-High Against Post Falls

Lake City lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Post Falls, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's match. The Timberwolves put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 13-4 win on Saturday. The Timberwolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kasen Noffke looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Lake City got a massive performance out of Kyle Johnson, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Johnson a new career-high. Jack Pierce was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Lake City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.

Lake City's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Post Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake City will take on Coeur d'Alene at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Post Falls, they will challenge Moscow at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
