Football Recap: East Surry Cardinals vs. West Stokes Wildcats
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Surry can now relate to. They took a 35-21 bruising from the West Stokes Wildcats on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Cardinals let down their fans at home.
Lindann Fleming continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Stokes, rushing for 207 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Fleming's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
East Surry's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3. As for West Stokes, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
East Surry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Stokes, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
