Softball Preview: Uintah Utes vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves
Uintah has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Timpanogos Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Uintah beat Orem 6-1.
Macie Luck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Randee Pace was incredible, going 2-for-2 with a home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinzee Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Timpanogos earned a 13-9 victory over Mountain View on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Timpanogos.
Kelci Gingras was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits (and not a single walk). Gingras was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Madison Young was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Kaydance Pope, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.
