Baseball Recap: Vineland Comes Up Short

Hammonton hit Vineland with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Fighting Clan lost 12-4 to the Blue Devils. That's two games in a row now that the Fighting Clan have lost by exactly eight runs.

Kyle Lamanteer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Vineland and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Hammonton, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vineland will venture away from home to challenge Ocean City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hammonton, they will head out to take on Cherry Hill West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
