Baseball Game Preview: Firebaugh Falcons vs. Compton Tarbabes

The Firebaugh Falcons will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Compton Tarbabes at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Firebaugh nor Compton posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Firebaugh is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Wiseburn- Da Vinci on Wednesday, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, Compton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Rancho Dominguez 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tarbabes have posted since April 12, 2025.

The result came thanks to Andrew Ruiz's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Compton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arturo Loera, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Erik Vera was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Firebaugh came out on top in a nail-biter against Compton when the teams last played back in March of 2020, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tarbabes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
