Basketball Recap: Timberline Blazers vs. Lakes Lancers

Timberline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Lakes Lancers 55-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-34 back in December of 2024.

Samara Oliver continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lakes, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Oliver has scored at least a third of Lakes' points. Another player making a difference was Lehua Stephens, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Timberline's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Timberline and Lakes could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Timberline will challenge Peninsula at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 154 places (260 vs. 106). Similarly, Lakes (ranked 134th) will meet North Thurston (ranked 17th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
