Elgin fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Choctaw on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 5-3. The Owls' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Elgin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Hilliary, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 23-4. As for Choctaw, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elgin will take on Duncan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Choctaw, they will challenge Charles Page at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
