Football Recap: Blanchester Takes a Loss

Blanchester extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-7. They were beaten by the Talawanda Brave 37-7. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Talawanda, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lance Cantrell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 160 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hainline, who rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

Blanchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Talawanda, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Goshen at 7:00 p.m. The Brave will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
