Recap: Eagle Mustangs vs. Capital Golden Eagles
The Eagle Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Capital with a sharp 62-40 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Eagle has managed all season.
Eagle was led to victory by Bella Thompson and Paige Cofer. Thompson scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Cofer scored 26 points along with three steals. The contest was Cofer's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Wood, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Eagle now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Capital, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Eagle will be home for the holidays to greet Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Centennial is ranked 50th, while Eagle is ranked 27th). As for Capital, they will head out on the road to face off against Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kuna is on a three-game streak of home losses, Capital a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
