Softball Recap: Chautauqua Lake Beats Barker for Their Tenth Straight Win

Chautauqua Lake extended their winning streak to ten on Friday, bumping their season record up to 16-3 in the process. They never let the Barker Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since May 8th.

Cayzlee Johnson made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jillan Miller, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As for Barker, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-5. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Barker's side, Mady Flint spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

Chautauqua Lake has already played their next game, a 6-0 defeat against Bloomfield on the 6th. Barker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
