Softball Recap: Lakeridge Comes Up Short

Lakeridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 16-5 to the Gresham Gophers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pacers of the 9-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2016.

FINLEY DICKSON and MILLIE MACKENZIE did some serious damage despite the final result: DICKSON scored a run while going 2-for-4, while MACKENZIE scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That run marked the first that DICKSON scored this season. Another player making a difference was REGAN LEE, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Lakeridge's record is now 1-6. As for Gresham, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Looking ahead, Lakeridge will head out on the road to square off against Aloha at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Gresham, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Century at 5:00 p.m. The Gophers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
