Basketball Recap: New Miami Comes Up Short

New Miami played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 46-26 to the Lockland Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Panthers since February 5, 2020.

Lockland was led to victory by Princes Webster and Jaylah Smith. Webster dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds, while Smith dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Webster has scored at least a third of Lockland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amyiah Jefferson, who posted three points and four steals.

New Miami's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Lockland, they moved to 9-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

New Miami and Northwest will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Lockland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
