Basketball Recap: Rector Comes Up Short

Rector was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dumas Bobcats. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Rector's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Dumas, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Rector has already played their next contest, a 59-48 victory against Maynard on the 3rd. As for Dumas, they will face off against Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
