There's no place like home for Eagle Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against the Aspen Skiers by a score of 18-14 on Tuesday. The Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Xander DeHerrera was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Eagle Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Anthony Ehlert also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Eagle Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Eagle Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Aspen, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eagle Valley beat the Skiers by a score of 11-7 later that day.
