Volleyball Recap: Advanced Math & Science Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against South on Monday, Advanced Math & Science Academy came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montachusett RVT Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Advanced Math & Science Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Montachusett RVT work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-7, 9-25, 28-26.

Guil Yost paced Advanced Math & Science Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Yost got some help from Aysha Silva and her 26 assists. Silva and Yost didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Advanced Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Montachusett RVT, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coincidentally, Advanced Math & Science Academy and Montachusett RVT will both be playing Notre Dame Academy the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on the 10th.
