Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Bandys' Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Bandys got themselves on the board against Lincolnton on Tuesday, but Lincolnton never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Wolves. Considering the Trojans have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Piper Barrymore was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jessie Sipe, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Alexander, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bandys always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bandys is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Lincolnton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bandys beat Lincolnton by a score of 12-3 later that day.
