Basketball Recap: Tharptown Comes Up Short

Tharptown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 50-40 to the Winston County Yellowjackets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-50 back in December of 2024.

Tharptown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Winston County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Tharptown will challenge Belgreen at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Winston County, they and Falkville will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
