Basketball Game Preview: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Mead Mavericks

Having just played yesterday, the Ridgevue Warhawks will jump right back in to play the Mead Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ridgevue's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

Ridgevue is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Rigby, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Ridgevue was ranked 14th). Ridgevue walked away with a 68-61 victory over Rigby on Thursday.

Ridgevue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaimana Nielson led the charge by putting up 21 points. The game was Nielson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tucker Tiddens was another key player, posting 21 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mead). They rang in the new year with a 75-66 win over Meridian on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mavericks.

Mead now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ridgevue, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
