Softball Recap: Tonopah Drops Season-High Score on Beaver Dam

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tonopah). Everything went their way against the Beaver Dam Diamondback on Saturday as they made off with a 26-16 win. Considering the Muckers have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Liberty Deck, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Baudoin, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Tonopah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. They are 6-3 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Tonopah is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Beaver Dam, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Tonopah will take on rival Sandy Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Beaver Dam is set to face off against their familiar foe Mountain View Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
