Basketball Recap: Mauldin Takes a Loss

Mauldin's tournament run continued when they took on Fox Creek on Thursday. The Mavericks took a blow against the Predators, falling 88-54.

Leading Fox Creek to victory were Kobe Sims and Jason Rogers. Sims went 9-for-17 to rack up 22 points in addition to six steals and five assists, while Rogers shot 69% from the field on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. That's the most assists Sims has posted since back in January. Chanze Allen was another key player, putting up nine points.

Mauldin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. As for Fox Creek, their record is now 6-2.

Mauldin has already played their next contest, a 61-46 win against South Pointe on the 19th. As for Fox Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 103-96 loss against James F. Byrnes on the 19th.
