Softball Recap: Jasper Comes Up Short

After flying high against Omaha on Friday, Jasper came back down to earth. The Pirates lost 17-11 to the Valley Springs Tigers on Saturday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Chloe Hodge was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Camber Shrum was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Valley Springs, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Jasper will be playing in front of their home fans against Viola at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Springs, they will face off against Yellville-Summit at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
