Volleyball Game Preview: Wimberley Texans vs. Davenport Wolves

Wimberley has won 15 straight games at home, while Davenport has won 15 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Texans will host the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

If Long Creek wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wimberley, they should've done a better job of containing Ashton Shipman. The Texans put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday thanks in part to Shipman, who had 18 digs and three aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10 digs per game.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-14, 25-19.

Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Davenport prevailed. Everything went their way against Bandera on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Davenport was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-9, 25-11.

Wimberley's victory bumped their record up to 37-5. As for Davenport, their win bumped their record up to 31-7.

Wimberley beat Davenport 3-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Texans repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
