Volleyball Recap: Eight Straight Road Wins for Village Christian Academy

Village Christian Academy won the last time they faced Fayetteville Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

While Village Christian Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-16, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Xavier Evans and Grant Washington, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Jacob Grenier- Richie and his 26 assists. Andrew Ngo and Elijah Guinn kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with five aces apiece.

Village Christian Academy's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Fayetteville Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Village Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Freedom Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on May 2. After both having extra time off, Fayetteville Academy and Alpha Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
