St. Laurence extended their home winning streak to six games  thanks to a huge performance from  Leah Romano. The Vikings skirted past the St. Francis Spartans  2-1 for which the team can thank  Romano, who  had 24  digs and two  aces. She is  on a roll when it comes to  aces, as she's  now  served two or more in each of the last three games she's  played.
 St. Laurence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-22,  25-19.
 St. Francis'  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Addi Samolinski, who  had 14  digs and two  aces, and  Kathryn Kopec, who  had 16  digs.  Grace Grover also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  assist of the season.
St. Laurence's victory bumped their record up to 22-8. As for St. Francis,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 18-10.
 Looking ahead, St. Laurence will take on Lincoln-Way East in a tournament  on Saturday. As for St. Francis, they will be taking part in a tournament against Plainfield East  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
