Basketball Game Preview: Desert Hills Thunder vs. Snow Canyon Warriors

The Desert Hills Thunder will head out to take on the Snow Canyon Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Desert Hills is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 15th last Saturday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting St. Monica an easy 59-39 win. The match marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Snow Canyon put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 74-46 victory over Sunnyslope. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.

Desert Hills better keep an eye on Olivia Hamlin. She was instrumental in Snow Canyon's win, as she made all 8 shots she took from beyond the arc racking up 37 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Hamlin is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 39 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chaylee Andrews, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Snow Canyon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Desert Hills' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Snow Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.

Desert Hills was dealt a bruising 76-49 defeat at the hands of Snow Canyon when the teams last played back in February. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Desert Hills was down 43-22.
