League recap: Ensworth extends winning streak with victory over Father Ryan

Division II AA - East/Middle recap Oct. 30, 2012

Ensworth extended the longest winning streak in Division II AA - East/Middle this week by beating Father Ryan, 41-24. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Tigers.

Dekeivis Perry was the most productive running back in the league this week. In six carries, he ran for 68 yards as the Fightin' Irish lost to Ensworth. Teammate Joseph Holzmer added to the ground attack by rushing for 66 yards.

Andrew Bowers put up the best numbers through the air as Ricky Bowers' team topped Father Ryan. He finished with a total of 10 completions for 196 yards and three touchdowns. Bowers' favorite target this week was Kiambu Fentress, who caught one pass for 56 yards.

White was the best wideout in the league this week as Bruce Lussier's team fell to the Tigers. White racked up five receptions for 77 yards. Rafael Hopkins helped Father Ryan's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.

Ensworth's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bowers has thrown for 1252 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Myles Pasley has 17 catches for 373 yards. Cornelius Elder leads the league in rushing with 1969 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Baylor takes on Battle Ground Academy. At the moment, the Red Raiders are in fourth, while the Wildcats are in sixth.

Brentwood Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on McCallie.
