Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bowsher). Everything went their way against the Start Spartans on Monday as they made off with an 18-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the BlueRacers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
The team relied heavily on Mi'Yonnah Gordon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alycia Ahmed, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Bowsher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bowsher's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7.
Looking ahead, Bowsher will welcome Rogers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The BlueRacers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Start, they will venture away from home to challenge Northwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
