Recap: Meridian Hawks vs. Flora Wolves
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Meridian Hawks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 56-52 victory over Flora. For Meridian, this counts as revenge for the 49-33 loss Flora walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Meridian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colton Denny, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Hill, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meridian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Flora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Meridian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Greenville at 8:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Greenville is ranked 276th, while Meridian is ranked 299th). Flora and Pana will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pana is on a three-game streak of home losses, Flora a three-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
