Basketball Recap: Oak Ridge Comes Up Short

Oak Ridge lost against Willis back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Oak Ridge War Eagles took a 50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Willis Wildkats. The War Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

SJ Young was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 10 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds for Willis. The match was Young's third in a row with at least ten points. Rondell Lewis was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

Oak Ridge now has a losing record at 14-15. As for Willis, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Oak Ridge will challenge Caney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Ridge is facing Caney Creek at the right time seeing as Caney Creek is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Willis, they will square off against Grand Oaks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willis will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
